Doing Business Better
In a historic vote on transparency, the European Parliament voted to adopt rules that compel all EU-listed companies as well as private companies to publish all payments over €100,000 to governments where they operate. And it's really significant, for not only will they have to publish the sums, but they also need to identify individual projects in every nation in which they do business.
Africa scoring goals
There is a lot of good news about poverty these days. A few days ago the High-level Panel appointed by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon turned in its 12-point recommendations about the future fight against poverty in the world beyond 2015.
