In February 2010, almost all representatives of Micah Challenge of the "Northern" countries (Europe, Canada, US) met in London for 2 solid days. To start with, it was great to meet. For most of us it was the first time after working for several years with the same goals and experiencing similar frustrations, as well as encouraging results.
The main purpose of this session was to give us some tools and motivate us to undertake a 10.10.10 campaign to promote the MDG's within the evangelical churches, asking our governements as a christian body to act according to their promesses towards the poors.
It is encouraging to see the church engage in the battle against poverty using its position as part of the civil society.
It was also time to relay the message of the southern countries to encourage MC to engage in good governance, which will make the MDG's target much more effective.
