Ugandan children's ministry Watoto has pledged its support to Micah Challenge.  Team leader Gary Skinner says,

"10.10.10 is a great way to demonstrate our unity - coming together around a good goal, and with Jesus at the heart of the Church.  It certainly is time for us to unite our voices in calling out to God to bring back to our nations His justice through every one of the segments of society - the political, the church, the business.  So I'm excited.  We want to be a part of it.  I think you should be a part of it too!" Gary Skinner, Watoto Ministries

We look forward to photos of the Watoto Children's Choir doing 10.10.10!

Nicta Lubaale, General Secretary of the OAIC has endorsed Micah 2010, and the organisation will encourage its network to take part in 10.10.10, "We believe in the campaign which Micah Challenge is taking up around the MDGs, and we are happy to partner with Micah Challenge to ensure the  promises of the MDGs take a central role in the planning of African countries."

NOTE

The Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) is an association of African Independent, Instituted or African founded Churches (AICs).

AIC's are indigenous African churches, founded originally during the colonial period, as an assertation that God speaks directly to Africans without requiring the mediation of outsiders. They developed indigenous forms of worship, theology, and social organization, rooted in African culture. Members of AICs number about 60 million across the continent at the present time.

Following the World Assemblies of God Fellowship affirmation of Micah 2010, the UK network gets fully involved.  John Partington is the National Leader of AOG UK and believes wholeheartedly that Micah 2010's aims should be a good fit for pentecostals, "Micah 10.10.10 is a timely, God-given project that every pentecostal church can get excited about.  As a leadership we are right behind it and I would encourage every Assemblies of God member to get behind the Micah Challenge."

Quotes:

“We believe that the local church has the power to change the world.  If we work together we could see much of Jesus commission come about. The Micah Challenge is one we all agree on.  Justice, equality, mercy, helping the least and the last.  Let’s do this together both in prayer and action.”

Mark Melluish, New Wine Leadership team
