NOVEMBER
12: ZAMBIA
Micah Challenge Zambia calls on Christians to pray for the creation of a fair, just and equitable constitution for all Zambians on the eve of National Constitution Conference.
Over the past forty years, Zambia has operated under four different constitutions. After widespread opposition to the two most recent constitutions (enacted in 1991 and 1996), the Zambian government is now finally hoping to be able to give their people a legitimate constitution that will stand the test of time. Micah Challenge Zambia is asking the church to reach out to its Christian lawyers, judges, police officers, doctors, and business communities who will attend the NCC and help to develop a constitution derived from Biblical standards. MC Australia is taking up this opportunity to pray for these leaders and the decisions they will make at a Micah Challenge service in Sydney on Saturday September 1st. Christian leaders from all denominations will be taking part and the address will be given by Shane Clifton and Neil Ormerod, two respected theologians currently working on a book on globalisation and the mission of the Church.
