Past Activities

Micah Challenge activities happen throughout the year organised by our national campaigns. Here are a selection highlights from the last year. October 19 - Micah Sunday
Micah Sunday was a focus for prayer and action in many churches across the globe, including 30 churches in Cape Town, South Africa took part in Stand Up and in Nigeria, a football match between women who work crushing stones and women who work with local charities highlighted the plight of the poorest. The match was broadcast on national TV.

October 13-19 - Stand Up Take Action
Organised by GCAP (Global Call to Action Against Poverty) 116 million people took part in Stand Up including many Micah Challenge campaigns.

October 11-14: Voices for Justice, Australia
240 supporters visited 102 MPs over 2 days to talk about poverty and the Millennium Development Goals. 30 MPs made speeches in Parliament supporting action on poverty.

July 24 - Lambeth Conference, London
In partnership with Micah Challenge, The Archbishop of Canterbury led hundreds of Anglican bishops, faith leaders and Christian charity representatives in a march in London in a call to world leaders to do everything they can to halve extreme global poverty by 2015.
