My first visit to Italy was a brief but memorable one. For one thing it was my very first visit and it was good to have Carol along to share the experience. Our primary purpose was to visit Pescara where I had the privilege of speaking at the an event at the Pescara City Hall promoted by the Italian Evangelical Alliance, Micah challenge and Coevema - a small Christian NGO responding to the earthquake in L'Aquila last Easter. Having the privilege to preach at a small but lively Apostolic church on Sunday was an honour; but even more so the opportunity to walk through the devastation of L'Aquila and to know that Christians were at the fore front of caring for these people whose foundations had quite literally been shaken made me very proud to be a part of evangelical Christian witness. I am so grateful to Guiseppe Rizza, general secretary of Italian Evangelical Alliance, for the opportunity to see so much in such a short period of time.
